Flower Power

This weekend I was cruising around the internet (beep beep) when I stumbled upon this great pattern on this great blog.

Love, true love. I love to crochet with cotton. I love cute patterns. I love easy, quick, small projects I can do in between massive disasters like spilled milk, sisterly fights and missing shoes. I love making these.

Then, Spudly, my oldest daughter, made a revolutionary suggestion (pun intended, snicker, snicker): why don't I make some for a wreath for the door...like a 4th of July, Independence Day sort of wreath. I've got the yarn so stay tuned.

Great idea! I can't wait to see the 4th of July wreath. The flowers are SO cute! Some of my favorites.

Just to let you know that I printed out the same pattern for Emily and picked up some cotton thread/yarn yesterday. She has been crocheting up a storm ever since Amy gave her a hook, a book and a 20 minute lesson for Christmas. She's made some amazing things, and I can't even chain, so she's gotten absolutely no help from me (except for buying yarn). These little flowers looked just about right for her to adorn hairbands, belts, pillows, etc. I bought variegated yarn, too, so that she'll get a mix of colors in her flowers without even having to change colors.
